The Taiwan Education Center (TEC)-Philippines and the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges is jointly hosting the “2021 Taiwan-Philippines University Presidents’ Virtual Forum with the theme “Language Education and International Linkage Under COVID-19”.
The virtual forum’s goal is to bring together university administrators, academicians and other professionals from Taiwan and the Philippines in order to enhance existing ties and forge new collaborations in instruction, research, industry-academe partnerships, language learning, and talent exchanges between the two countries.
The Hon. J. Prospero E. De Vera III, Chairman, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as the keynote speaker, discussed the “Global Education under COVID-19; Reality, Prospects and Innovations. Several topics are discussed by the international and local speakers from TEC and PASUC, respectively along with this international partnership.
International institutions of the TEC and the PASUC with their respective heads who organized this activity include the Ministry of Education, Taiwan - Dr. Lio Mon-chi, Political Deputy Ministry, National Sun Yat-sen University -Dr. Cheng Yin-yao, President, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines - Hon. Michael Peiyung Hsu, Ambassador and the Philippine Association of State University and Colleges and Batangas State University - Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, President.
The Hon. Ruth Padilla, OIC President finds this event very important. For this is one opportune time for NVSU to link with international organizations like the TEC for its quest for internationalization. This will provide opportunities for international mobility of NVSU faculty and students. Through Hon. Padilla’s active leadership, there is a great potential for NVSU to be able to yield a strong partnership with the institutions under the TEC.
