Despite the current situation worldwide, CTE once again submitted itself for accreditation of six Graduate Programs of the College of Teacher Education with its partner agency, Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges & Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) through a virtual accreditation from Aug. 30- Sept. 3, 2021.
As the university quests for quality academic offerings, the five-day accreditation visit will evaluate documents of the six graduate programs of the College of Teacher Education namely: Doctor of Education major in Educational Management, Doctor of Philosophy in Multilingual Education, Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education major in General Science, Master of Arts in Teaching majors in English and Filipino, Master of Arts in Education major in Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health, Master of Education major in Educational Management.
In the Virtual Opening Program via zoom meeting, Dr. Jocelyn P. Cabrera, Vice President for Academic Affairs, gave the opening remarks reiterating the positive response of the university in accepting the invitation of AACCUP on the initial survey visit of the 6 Graduate Programs of the College of Teacher Education. She ended her talk on giving emphasis on goodness of hard work, and love that produced quality of work and the advantages of attaining excellence while producing quality work.
Atty. Regine Karla G. Tabas, Executive Assistant and Chief, Presidential Management Staff presented the esteemed and supportive key officials of the university. The officials gave their full support on providing important documents and are open for virtual interviews during the visit.
Hon. Ruth R. Padilla, OIC of the Office of the President, delivered her inspirational message with high spirit through motivating words to inspire the faculty members who worked hard and unselfishly volunteered themselves to prepare the needed documents despite of the threat of COVID-19 and that most faculty members are on teacher’s leave status. Hon. Padilla optimistically believed that NVSU will achieve exemptional result of this accreditation.
After which, Dr. Cabrera presented the hardworking accreditation task force together with their counterparts of the various programs.
On the part of the AACCUP, Dr. Fe S. Soriano -Pangasinan State University, the overall chair of the accreditation team presented the seasoned accreditors as follows: Doctor of Education major in Educational Management, Dr. Norques M. Mangindra - University of Southern Mindanao and Dr. Wilhelm P. Cerbo - Western Visayas State University; Doctor of Philosophy in Multilingual Education, Dr. Elle Christine D. Melendez and Dr. Rizza R. Consad who are both professors of Bukidnon State University; Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education major in General Science, Dr. Alfeo B. Tulang - Bukidnon State University and Gemma DC. Santos of Nueva Ecija University - Science and Technology; Master of Arts in Teaching majors in English and Filipino, Prof. Mary Joy A. Castillo - Polytechnic University of the Philippines and Prof. Mary Jane C. Ningas - University of Southeastern Philippines; Master of Arts in Education major in Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health, Dr. Beverlyn B. Bicar - Bukidnon State University and Dr. Eleanor F. Castro - Central Philippines State University; and Master of Education major in Educational Management, Dr. Myra Luz M. Homillano - Central Bicol State University of Agriculture and Dr. Aurora E. Araoja - Catanduanes State University. Also, in the Area of Library for MAT-English and Filipino, Med-EM, MaEd-MAPEH, Prof. Mariter S. Asur and for PhD-SciEd, PhD-MLE and EdD-EM, Prof. Flocerpeda H. Bela-Ong who are both from Iloilo State College of Fisheries.
To set the tone of the accreditation activity, schedules of online interviews commenced right after the creation of the group chats in each graduate program of the college.
The five-day accreditation visit will follow activities as of the physical accreditation such as documents review and validation, classroom observation, interviews with key officials, stakeholder's conference and campus tour but this time, these will be done virtually in different platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet. The sharing of the over-all impressions will be done during the Closing Program that will be held on Sept. 3, 2021.
