Despite the pandemic, Nueva Vizcaya State University's Research, Extension, and Training successfully hosted an online two-day RDE proposal writeshop for faculty and staff on September 23-24, 2021 via Zoom. This activity seeks to help aspiring researchers write fundable project applications that are in line with the NVSU College RDE Agenda and external funding sources.
Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr., Vice President for RET, gave the opening remarks during the event. RDE is an important element of the university's SUC leveling, according to Dr. Ruth Raña-Padilla, University Officer-in-Charge. She urged the participants to come up with proposals and pledged to find ways to increase the RDE funding. The pre-workshop phase was highlighted by the presentation of the RDE Agenda of their respective colleges or emerging research needs, as well as the SOI on Institutionally-Funded Proposals by Ms. Flora Joy B. Garcia, Science Research Specialist I, to guide the participants on the research priorities of the university.
Following the presentation were lectures on RDE methodologies specifically under the Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources (AANR) by Dr. Jessie Pascual P. Bitog, Research and Development Officer-in-Charge, and Higher Education and Social Sciences by Dr. Rosalinda S. Guingab, Associate Professor II of Isabela State University. Some of the participants were able to present their outputs in line with the objective of the program.
