The University Extension Program enjoined the twelve (12) colleges of the university, in all the scope and intensity of extension efforts for community development. This encouraged critical and creative thinking, broadened scientific and technological knowledge, and promoted vocational efficiency and development in the countryside using the university’s expertise, research output and available resources. It includes packaging, demonstration, intellectual discussion, and application of technologies, tools, materials, processes and products generated through research and technical studies in selected communities for countryside development.
The program serves as a catalyst-facilitator of rural development focusing on strategies, approaches, and models of development. It emphasized on capability building, technology promotion, commercialization, and establishment of technology demonstration farms at the farmer level. Linked with the Provincial Government Units (PLGUs), Local Government Units (LGUs), Barangay Government Units (BLGUs), and other non-government entities in the promotion/commercialization of technologies/development programs for the community.
It performs overall coordinative function among the colleges and campuses’ extension-related activities. It is tasked to perform the major extension activity of the university and to assist in the conduct, evaluation, and monitoring of the extension activities of the different colleges.

Extension and Training Program Objectives
Its general objective is to conduct community-driven extension activities geared to capacitate target communities with knowledge, entrepreneurial skills and right attitudes towards poverty alleviation for an improved quality life. Specifically, it aims:

To package and transfer technologies to the needs of target communities for stakeholder’s empowerment and self-reliance;

To intensify monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment of extension program/activities conducted for technical advisory and strategic planning;

To level-up functional linkages and networking with other institutions at the local, regional, national, and international levels for resource sharing, fund sourcing and for greater impact; and
-
To conduct capability building (seminar/workshop/congress, symposium, etc.) to various stakeholders, government agencies in the national.
