The Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) and the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 02 (DA RFO 02) formalized their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to advance agricultural development in Region 02.
The MOA was signed by NVSU President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr., while Mr. Hector U. Tabbun, Chief of the Research Division, represented DA RFO 02 Regional Executive Director Dr. Rose Mary G. Aquino. Key officials from both institutions, Dr. Jonar I. Yago, NVSU Vice President for Research, Extension and Training, and Dr. Sony P. Aquino, Chief of NVSU’s Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM) Office, were present as witnesses.
The agreement centers on promoting and transferring mature agricultural technologies between DA RFO 02 and State Universities and Colleges under the Cagayan Valley Agriculture and Fisheries Resources, Research and Extension for Development Network (CVAFRREDN).
Through this collaboration, both institutions aim to harmonize Research for Development and Extension (R4DE) initiatives and accelerate the delivery of proven technologies to Farmers and Fisherfolk Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs), ultimately enhancing productivity, sustainability, and food security in the region.
As a key partner, NVSU will lead in technology identification, evaluation, dissemination, and capacity-building, while DA RFO 02 will focus on beneficiary identification, needs assessment, and monitoring to ensure alignment with regional agricultural priorities.
