NVSU engages media partners in ‘Kapihan at Balitaan’ on sustainability, plans
“We are happy that we can share this information with our friends from the press. I hope that you will be able to do justice by sharing it in your own media outfit. Please watch us and see what we are doing,” said Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) President Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr. as he acknowledge members of the media who are present during the Kapihan at Balitaan sa NVSU press conference held at the Balai Ti Alumni, March 13, 2025.
The event was part of NVSU’s 21st Charter Anniversary celebration, anchored on the theme “Anchoring on Our Strengths, Embodying the SDGs.”
One of the key highlights of the discussion was the administration’s efforts to raise awareness and inform the NVSU community about its SDG-aligned initiatives which aim to deepen understanding and integration of sustainable practices until they become part of the culture and way of life of every NVSUan.
"We are embodying it [the SDGs] by trying to sustain it, by trying to understand it, and by trying to inculcate in everyone that these are the measures. We want it to become a culture, a practice, and something that is continuously sustained," he said.
The president also outlined key developments, including strengthened collaborations with international institutions, sustainability-driven research projects, and campus infrastructure upgrades aimed at enhancing the overall learning environment.
“We only have big dreams for the university, which is why we continuously strive to make it better," President Dumale stated in his concluding message.
The Kapihan at Balitaan sa NVSU served as a platform for transparency and dialogue, allowing stakeholders to gain insights into the university’s growth while promoting a stronger partnership between NVSU and the media.
Leading the panel discussion alongside President Dumale are key officials including Dr. Alvin P. Vallesteros, OIC-Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Cristina R. Salvosa, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Dr. Jonar P. Yago, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training; Dr. Rhea L. Adriatico, OIC Campus Administrator of Bayombong Campus, and Prof. Gerald A. Perez, Bambang Campus Administrator.
