NVSU invests in new books to boost library resources for studes, faculty
As part of its continuous effort to provide students and faculty with comprehensive learning resources, Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) has recently secured a new collection of books for its library.
University President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr. presided over the formal signing of the procurement contract on October 7, 2024, at the NVSU Bayombong Campus.
The acquisition is divided into two key projects: Project No. 2023-19G, titled “Supply and Delivery of Reference Books for the University Library,” with a budget allocation of P3,779,772.00, securing 919 books; and Project No. 2024-19G, “Supply and Delivery of Reference Books for the University Library Bayombong Campus,” with a budget of P1,139,641.81, providing an additional 353 books. Together, these initiatives bring a total of 1,272 new books to the university’s library, with a combined budget of P4,919,413.81.
The new collection, expected to arrive soon, will cover a wide range of disciplines aimed to meet the growing demand for updated and relevant resources that is of great help for undergraduate and graduate research across various fields of study.
“By continuously strengthening our library’s resources, we are prioritizing the academic needs of our students. This initiative is more than just about acquiring books. It’s about empowering our students to push the boundaries of their knowledge and become leaders in their fields,” said President Dumale.
While the university has also focused on infrastructure development in recent years, President Dumale said the procurement of books is just one of the many efforts of NVSU to ensure high-quality student services.
Once the books arrive, the university will feature expanded resources in key areas accessible to faculty and students for their research and study.
