NVSU joins UMAP Conference to strengthen Internationalization Programs
University President Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr. and Executive Assistant and Director for International Affairs Atty. Regine Karla G. Tabas attended the CHED-IAS and UMAP Philippines National Conference on “Rebooting and Harmonizing Internationalization Initiatives” from October 16-17, 2024.
Nueva Vizcaya State University, a proud member of the University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP), is actively maximizing its membership to enhance the university’s internationalization programs.
During the conference, they reconnected with NVSU’s former OIC, Dr. Heracleo D. Lagrada, now Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dean of the Graduate School at Our Lady of Fatima University, and a member of the UMAP Board.
The event aimed to broaden the understanding of international perspectives in student and staff mobility through a multisectoral approach and to share international best practices that strengthen strategic partnerships supporting the internationalization agenda.
UMAP, an association of government and non-government representatives from the higher education sector, seeks to promote enhanced international understanding through increased mobility of university students and staff. UMAP plays a vital role in fostering cross-border services and strengthening partnerships among higher education institutions in Asia and the Pacific.
