NVSU partners with PhilHealth to boost employees, studes’ health, well-being
To promote the health and well-being of university employees, University President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr. met with representatives from PhilHealth – Local Health Insurance, Solano, to arrange an orientation and caravan for staff and students, as part of PhilHealth's "Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama" (Konsulta) program held at the Office of the President, today.
Konsulta is a comprehensive outpatient benefits as mandated by the Universal Health Care Law (UHC).
Said law ensures that all Filipinos are guaranteed equitable access to quality and affordable health care goods and services and protected against financial risks.
Dr. Dumale explained that the initiative was motivated by observations of employees and their family members frequently falling ill, coupled with concerns that many employees avoid seeking medical check-ups due to fears of high costs, emphasizing the need for orientation and awareness.
Moreover, the president requested that PhilHealth include an orientation to encourage non-member students to become members.
Following the discussion, an orientation is scheduled to be held at the university this November.
Present at the dialogue with the president were Chief Social Insurance Officer Lanida D. Castillo, Konsulta and Accreditation Point Person Ma. Liezzl L. Pugong, Public Affairs Unit Designate Erika Jane B. Paladin, and Membership Representative Jermaine Bulan.
