NVSU, PTPF, CPU strengthen ties through academic, cultural collaboration

The Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) hosted delegates from the Prasert-Tassnee Poongkumarn Foundation (PTPF) and Chaopraya University (CPU) of Thailand from February 9-11, 2025, reinforcing its commitment to international partnerships in education, research, and cultural exchange.

The delegation included Mrs. Sunee Singhakachen, PTPF Coordinator; Mr. Sawang Singhakachen, PTPF Manager; Chiranun Kamolsin, Assistant to the President of CPU; Tinagorn Poolput, Program Director of Master’s Program in Educational Administration of CPU; Mr. Swiss Dej-Sira, Director of the International Affairs; and Dr. Sippanon Mang-Ana, Khortor School’s Director.

The three-day visit featured a series of meaningful engagements, including a welcome program, an academic forum that explored expanded internship opportunities, employment prospects for NVSU alumni, and the feasibility of establishing a language learning center and a cultural tour of Bayombong and Bambang, where they explored and appreciated the rich local heritage and tourism.

Discussions also paved the way for new collaborations across various disciplines such as engineering, technology, business, agriculture, tourism, and hospitality management.

One of the biggest initiatives of PTPF is to improve the English competency of learners in Thailand. They have been assisting numerous schools in Thailand in this endeavor.

Through the leadership College of Teacher Education- Bambang Campus Dean Dr. Jenifer Raymond R. Tallungan, NVSU has already deployed more than 20 students to various schools in Thailand, with plans to expand the program further.

This led to the establishment of the first-ever Nueva Vizcaya State University Alumni Association Thailand Chapter, which was formally recognized during a meeting in Thailand with University President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr. in 2023.

According to University President Dumale, a primary goal of this visit was to further expand the collaboration.

“NVSU is now promoting cross-campus cooperation by leveraging its international partnerships. This approach aims to extend opportunities to a greater number of students and faculty members,” he explained.

Sunee Singhakachen, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome, stating that the Philippines is like a second home. Accompanied by administrators from their universities and schools, the delegation aimed to establish stronger relations for future collaboration.

“We are very happy to hear that we can help 27 students to get a job in Thailand. We just work, never count the result. We just help, never count the income. We work for free,” she said.

President Dumale also expressed his enthusiasm for the strengthened collaboration.

“We really look forward that our collaboration is going to expand and become more productive in the years to come. We assure that we are very much committed to pursue this collaboration and we are dedicated to advancing our agreement and the details of our collaboration involving also the various partners of the university,” he stated.
