NVSU Sabatan explores Tech Innovations in Taiwan Benchmarking Tour
The Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) Sabatan, represented by Project Leader Dr. Cristina R. Salvosa, joined the SINAG Cagayan Valley Startup Surge: Exploring The Tech Oasis- A Benchmarking Tour at at Taipei, Taiwan, last June 3-8, 2024.
The Synergistic, Innovative, and Agile Cagayan Valley Consortium (SINAG Cagayan Valley Consortium), with funding support from DOST-PCIEERD under its "HEIRIT-ReSEED: Accelerating the Cagayan Valley Startup Ecosystem" project, conducted a benchmarking activity in Taipei as part of their key deliverables.
Taipei was chosen for its exceptional start-up ecosystem, known globally as a tech and innovation hub. The city offers a diverse landscape for start-ups, featuring innovation hubs, accelerators, and co-working spaces that provide access to mentorship, resources, and investment opportunities.
During the tour, the SINAG Cagayan Valley Team established collaborations with several universities, TBIs accelerators, and fab labs in Taipei. Highlights included visits to the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO), Chaoyang University of Technology, National Taiwan Normal University, Taiwan Tech Arena, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and Taiwan Startup Stadium Company.
They also met with The Mobile Only Accelerator (MOX - Orbit Startups). Additionally, the team participated in InnoVEX 2024 and COMPUTEX 2024 at the Nangang Exhibition Center. COMPUTEX 2024, themed โConnecting AI,โ attracted world-class buyers and turned Taiwan into a focal point of global attention.
The top visitor countries during the event were Japan, the United States, South Korea, China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
