NVSU signs MOU with CCC to advance National Climate Governance
The Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) further strengthened its commitment to climate action through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Climate Change Commission (CCC) during the Multi-Sectoral Cooperation Signing held at Palacio de Manila, Malate, Manila, on November 25, 2025.
The ceremony formed part of the national observance of the 18th Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week, gathering representatives from the private sector, civil society, the academe, and national government agencies dedicated to advancing climate resilience, sustainability, and evidence-based climate governance.
NVSU was represented by Dr. Jessie Pascual P. Bitog, Dean of the College of Engineering, together with Dr. Mary Hazel Joy C. Ugot, Dr. Glaizalyn B. Lictawa, and Engr. Angelito Agrimor, who oversee the Nueva Vizcaya Climate Change Center (NVCCC) of the university.
This partnership boosts NVSU’s ongoing climate action initiatives by strengthening the work of the NVCCC, particularly in climate research, capacity building, and community outreach. The MOU also aligns the university’s climate programs with national priorities for resilience and sustainable development.
The signing stands as a clear affirmation of NVSU’s commitment to confronting climate challenges and deepening its collaboration with national agencies to help build a more informed, prepared, and climate-resilient future for communities.
