NVSU-CVM faculty enhance Veterinary Lab Skills at PHILOHUN Workshop
In an effort to strengthen veterinary laboratory systems and improve biosafety standards, two faculty members from the Nueva Vizcaya State University - College of Veterinary Medicine (NVSU-CVM) participated in the Philippine One Health University Network (PHILOHUN) seminar/workshop on September 20, 2024, at Widus Hotel Clark, Pampanga.
Dr. Jun-Jun C. Pabilin and Dr. Jennifer T. Albano represented NVSU-CVM alongside other participants from PHILOHUN member universities in North Luzon. Supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Southeast Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN), the event was part of the ongoing "Accelerating Biosafety and Biosecurity in University Laboratories" capacity-building series.
The seminar/workshop provided a platform for universities, organizations, and experts to exchange ideas and experiences on enhancing the laboratory system's capacities. The knowledge gained is expected to contribute to NVSU-CVM's ongoing efforts to modernize its laboratories and improve biosafety protocols, benefiting both students and researchers.
PHILOHUN, a member of the Southeast Asia One Health University Network, promotes collaboration between health sectors to address public health challenges through education, research, and capacity building.
