NVSU-CVM Students Participate in Career Orientation Seminar by PCPP
In a collaborative effort to enhance the academic experience and prepare students for future careers, the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) – College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) hosted an outreach program organized by the Philippine College of Poultry Practitioners (PCPP) on September 26, 2024, at the Farmer’s Training Center in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
The program, which targeted 4th to 6th-year CVM students, featured career orientation and interactive sessions. Experts from the field shared insights on critical topics, including veterinary career paths, food safety, and technological advancements in the poultry industry.
Presentations included ‘Exploring Career Paths in Veterinary Medicine’ by Dr. Fernando Yu, ‘Introduction to Food Animal Practice’ by Dr. Dixie Grace Mendoza, ‘Integrating One Health into Veterinary Medicine’ by Dr. Mel Umandal, ‘Understanding Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and the Importance of Food Safety and Veterinary Public Health’ by Dr. Ruel Manlolo, and ‘Building a Successful Career in Food Animal Veterinary Medicine’ and ‘Advancements in Poultry Veterinary Technology and Innovation’ by Dr. Renato Rollan.
The PCPP is an organization of poultry veterinarians dedicated to advancing the Philippine poultry sector through professional development and ethical practices.
