College of Engineering Celebrates Success at National Geodetic Engineering Summit

The College of Engineering is thrilled to congratulate all GE students and faculty who attended during the National Geodetic Engineering Summit x Geodetic Engineering Student Conference 2024. Held at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, gathered by 20 schools nationwide on April 28th and 29th, themed “GeoARCANA: Unearthing the Limitless Breakthroughs in Geomatics”.

Appreciation to:

·        Participants Jarnel Anthony R. Floresca: Organizational Presenter In The National BSGE Consortium

·        Participants Raziel Lawayan, Thessa Mae Pacio, and Lanie Lyn Padi: GE ka na ba? The National GE Quiz Show

Throughout the summit, attendees were exposed to series of enlightening seminars, each shedding light on different aspects of geomatics:

o  Mapping the path less travelled: Careers, Impact, and Ikigai in Open Geospatial

o  Ground Truth: Application of Remote Sensing in Building Resilience

o  The Map Speaks, but from Where? Power and Cartographic Practice

o  From Pixels to Purpose: How Open Mapping Saves Lives

o  Geomatics for Renewable Energy Resource Assessment

o  Distinguished Participants

Among the distinguished participants who actively engaged in these seminars were Raziel Lawayan, Jarnel Anthony Floresca, Justine Kaye Ramirez, Jhorge Agmallo, Krisvalen Agub, Thessa Mae Pacio, Lanie Lyn Padi, Aljay Cuyahon, and Jellyfer Bello.

Under the guidance of esteemed advisers ENGR. EFRENJOY A. HAWETE and ENGR. MYNCHILYN A. PALE, these participants delved deep into the intricacies of geodetic engineering, enriching their understanding and fostering connections within the field.

Furthermore, attendees had the privilege of engaging with industry leaders during company talks. Representatives from RASA Surveying, Geospectrum, and Van Oord shared valuable insights and expertise, further enhancing the learning experience and opening doors to potential collaborations and opportunities.

As the participants return to their respective institutions inspired and empowered, the College of Engineering eagerly anticipates the continued advancement and innovation in geodetic engineering that will undoubtedly shape the future of our nation and beyond.
