The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Nueva Vizcaya has passed Resolution No. 2025-5794 and Resolution No. 2025-5655, commending and congratulating the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) for its remarkable achievements and recognitions in 2024 and 2025, and its global performance in the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI)—all of which have brought pride and honor to the province.
Authored by Hon. Eunice Galima-Gambol, Board Member, and unanimously adopted during the 9th Regular Session of the 12th Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the resolutions cited NVSU’s outstanding performance in various international and national assessments. Among these are its inclusion in the WURI 2025, where it ranked 227th globally, and the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025 for its strong contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During the commendation ceremony, University President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr. expressed gratitude to the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya for recognizing the university’s milestones.
“Masaya po kami dahil narerecognize ng ating mga leaders ang mga efforts ng unibersidad lalo na po sa international rankings,” Dr. Dumale expressed.
Dr. Dumale also shared updates with the local leaders about the recent visit of Senator Loren B. Legarda, who expressed her commitment to supporting the Indigenous Peoples (IP) students of NVSU. He likewise mentioned the collaboration with Climate Change Commission (CCC) Secretary Robert E.A. Borje, aimed at capacitating the university in climate change adaptation efforts, which will soon be formalized through a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between NVSU and the CCC.
He further acknowledged the continuing assistance of the Provincial Government and expressed optimism that these commendations will translate into sustained support and additional funding for the university’s initiatives.
The resolutions also highlighted NVSU’s recent national distinctions, including its 1st Runner-Up award in the Global Citizenship category of the CHED ICONS Awards 2024, its ISO 9001:2015 recertification, and its Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Level II recognition—the first institution from the province to receive such an honor.
The university likewise earned the Platinum Award at the ITSO Presidents’ Summit 2025 for exemplary leadership in research and technology transfer, marking another first in the Cagayan Valley region.
