Showcasing Innovation, Collaboration, and Excellence in Cagayan Valley NVSU co-hosts successful 2025 RSTW
The 2025 Regional Science, Innovation, and Technology Week (RSTW) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 02 concluded successfully at the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) Bayombong Campus, held from October 9 to 11, 2025.
With the theme “Siyensa, Teknolohiya at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Kinabukasan - Building Smart and Sustainable Communities," the three-day celebration brought together over 2,500 participants — from local government units, industry leaders, researchers, MSMEs, students, and media partners — to celebrate the transformative power of science, technology, and innovation (STI) in building sustainable futures.
The university, honored and privileged to host this prestigious regional event, proudly showcased not only its world-class facilities but also its dedicated human resources, research expertise, and strong partnership with DOST through various initiatives and projects — including the DOST-NICER Citrus Project and other research collaborations that embody innovation and inclusivity.
Throughout the event, the university became a hub of creativity and collaboration. Exhibitions, technology demonstrations, and fora highlighted how STI continues to empower communities, strengthen local industries, and inspire the youth to pursue scientific inquiry.
DOST Region 02 Regional Director Dr. Virginia G. Bilgera lauded the collective effort of all partners, recognizing NVSU President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr. and the entire NVSU community for their warm hospitality and active participation.
“We are very happy because we are able to share the programs and projects of DOST. And we know that this will not stop from here because this will go along the way as we journey towards application of Science, Technology and Innovation,” she said.
Beyond the exhibits and numbers, RSTW 2025 stood as a testament to the power of collaboration — where scientists, educators, entrepreneurs, and students worked together to transform ideas into impact.
As the curtains closed, one message resonated across all participants: when science and community converge, innovation thrives, and sustainable progress becomes a shared reality for all.
