
NVSU faculty member pursues PhD in Japan under MEXT Scholarship
As part of Nueva Vizcaya State University’s (NVSU) efforts to support faculty development and build international connections, another faculty member has embarked on advanced studies abroad.
Mr. Daren S. Eraña, a faculty member of the College of Business Education (CBE), has started his academic journey, pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration major in Innovation Management at Kobe University in Japan under the highly competitive Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship Program.
His program includes a six-month intensive Japanese language course, which began on April 1, 2024, followed by a three-year PhD program which started in April 2025 at the Graduate School of Business Administration, Kobe University.
Mr. Eraña’s selection supports NVSU’s efforts to strengthen research and academic excellence through global education. His focus on innovation management is expected to enhance the university’s business programs and contribute to higher education development in the region.
