CTE celebrates educ week; highlights tribute to LET passers
The College of Teacher Education recently concluded a week-long celebration of Education Week 2024, held on April 24-26, 2024, with the theme "CTE: Celebrating Success, Nurturing Future Educators," highlighting the college's successes and achievements over the past years.
Throughout the week, administrators, faculty, staff, and students gathered to explore innovative approaches to shaping the future of education.
The event featured diverse activities, including instructional materials preparation, research presentations, demonstration teaching, quiz bowl, spelling bee, and the traditional setting up of bazaars.
One of the highlights was the tribute to the passers of the 2023 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).
The celebration was graced by the University President, Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr., and the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Elma P. Apostol, who inspired the LET passers to practice the values and principles of teaching they learned from the university. The president reiterated that the rewards of teaching don’t come immediately.
“The intangible reward teachers receive is seeing their students succeed in their careers” emphasized Dr. Dumale.
Furthermore, Dr. Apostol reminded the achievers to be the best teachers they could be. The college dean, Dr. William D. Magday, Jr., shared the same message with the honorees and expressed much appreciation for the efforts of all involved in the Education Week celebration.
During the celebration, an awarding of Dean’s Listers was also given to successful students who met the qualifications for the said award.
