NVSU educator returns from Taiwan after Advanced Mechanical Eng'g studies

Mr. Dale Mark Bristol from the College of Engineering-Bambang returns after his academic journey in Taiwan under the prestigious MECO-TECO Sandwich Program, a collaborative scholarship grant from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC).

Currently pursuing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at De La Salle University, Manila, Mr. Bristol spent a portion of his research at National Ilan University, Yilan, Taiwan, under the Department of Mechanical and Electromechanical Engineering.

His studies focused on cutting-edge topics such as Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC), Flow Controllers (bluff bodies), and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation.

During his stay, Mr. Bristol earned recognition for his contributions to sustainable energy research.

He presented his paper titled "Effect of Tesla Valvular Conduit in Bioelectricity Generation of Microalgal Type Microbial Fuel Cell" and won Best Paper Presenter at the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell (HEFC) Conference held at National Chin Yi University in Taichung, Taiwan, in September 2024,

In December 2024, Mr. Bristol also participated in the International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Green Technology (SEGT) in Bangkok, Thailand, where he presented another study titled "Biomimetic Design Optimization and Performance Characterization of Microalgal Type Microbial Fuel Cell."

Mr. Bristol's return to the College of Engineering-Bambang brings not only his wealth of expertise but also his commitment to advancing research in renewable energy and sustainable technology. His achievements inspire both students and colleagues as he continues to contribute to the academic and scientific community.
