CVM Celebrates 10th Founding Anniversary, Conducts Alumni Homecoming

With the theme “A Decade of Veterinary Excellence: Honoring our past, Shaping our future,” the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) – College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) celebrated its 10th Founding Anniversary and conducted an alumni homecoming last December 14, 2024 at CVM grounds and CVM building, NVSU, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

The event commenced with a thanksgiving service, followed by the CVM Marker Groundbreaking Ceremony. Attendees then joined in singing the National Anthem and Vizcaya Hymn, setting the stage for the program’s formal opening.

In his welcome remarks, Dr. Jun-Jun C. Pabilin greeted participants with an inspiring message. Dr. Haidee E. Torio, Dean of CVM, recounted the college’s history and its significant milestones, emphasizing its journey of excellence in veterinary education.

Dr. Jessica M. Cadoy introduced the guest speaker, Dr. Liberty G. Torres, the former Dean of NVSU-CVM.

In her speech, Dr. Torres reflected on the remarkable progress the college has made over the years.

She commended the institution’s growth, celebrated the advancements achieved under the leadership of its faculty and staff, and expressed gratitude to her former colleagues for their invaluable contributions to her success during her tenure at the university.

Recognizing the contribution of the individuals that contributed to the growth and success of the college, the program continued with the awarding of plaques and certificates to the following: the Designer of the NVSU-CVM logo, outstanding alumni, retirees, benefactors, and the October 2024 Veterinarian Licensure Examination Passers.

The awards underscored the collective efforts and accomplishments of the CVM community.

In the afternoon, alumni from different batches reconnected, shared memories, and rekindled their bond with the institution. The event fostered camaraderie and nostalgia, creating an atmosphere of celebration and unity.

The CVM’s 10th Founding Anniversary celebrated not only its accomplishments over the past decade but also its commitment to shaping the future of veterinary medicine. With its rich legacy and dedication to excellence, the college continues to inspire and lead in the field of veterinary education.
