NVSU, Chubu Ecotec discuss collaborative initiatives on Advanced Waste Mngt Tech

Shimizu City, Shizuoka, Japan – August 20, 2024 – Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) explored a potential partnership with Chubu Ecotec Co. Ltd., a leading Japanese environmental company specializing in fermentation composting equipment and organic fertilizers.

The meeting, held in Shimizu City, Shizuoka, was organized and facilitated by the Organization for Industrial, Spiritual, and Cultural Advancement (OISCA) International, a long-time partner of NVSU.

Mr. Hiroya Kawai, Overseas Sales Engineer of Chubu Ecotec Co. Ltd., presented an overview of his company. With 30 years of expertise, Chubu Ecotec specializes in producing organic fertilizers rich in essential and trace elements, which enhances soil fertility and plant growth. Their technologies aim to maintain and restore soil health through composting and fermentation processes, contributing to a recycling-based society.

Mr. Kawai highlighted Chubu Ecotec’s flagship product, the Rapid Fermentation Machine Compo Series. This technology excels in converting organic waste into high-quality compost, promoting environmental sustainability and efficient waste management. The company’s approach combines mechanical and fermentation technologies to deliver superior products and services.

During the meeting, the NVSU delegation had the opportunity to learn about Chubu Ecotec's innovative waste management technologies and discussed potential collaborations. The discussion focused on exploring internship opportunities for NVSU students, connecting local leaders and agricultural cooperatives in Nueva Vizcaya with Chubu Ecotec, and considering the acquisition of Chubu Ecotec's technology to benefit the province.

The visit marked a significant step in NVSU's efforts to integrate advanced waste management practices and explore sustainable agricultural solutions. By leveraging Chubu Ecotec’s expertise, NVSU aimed to enhance its waste management capabilities and provide valuable opportunities for its students and local communities.

The NVSU delegation comprised President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Cristina R. Salvosa, Director for the Center for Research, Resource, and Development Center (CRRDC) Dr. Elbert A. Sana, Director for Research and Development (R&D) Dr. Jessie Pascual P. Bitog, Director for International Affairs Atty. Regine Karla G. Tabas, and CHED Regional Director Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo. The OISCA delegation included OISCA International Secretary General Nagaishi Yasuaki, OISCA Shizuoka Secretary General Uchiyama Emiko, OISCA Shizuoka Officer Masato Suzuki, and OISCA Division for Domestic Operations Senior Adviser Fujime Asaji.
