NVSU sends faculty for exchange program in US
On August 15, 2023, fellows from the Philippines and Vietnam were welcomed at the USDA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. for the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Faculty Exchange Program.
One of the Philippine cohorts is Dr. Haidee E. Torio, the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine of Nueva Vizcaya State University. She is participating in the U.S. Department of Agriculture Faculty Exchange Program (FEP) for Veterinary Sciences at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, USA from August to December 2023.
Dr. Torioโs participation to the said program is a result of a competitive screening process to the USDAโs 2023 Faculty Exchange Program-Southeast Asia Veterinary Medicine call for applications. The goal of the program is to promote the development of sound science policy, teaching, and research techniques in veterinary medicine. It also provides exposure to up-to-date research methodologies and equipment used in the United States. She shall be assigned a faculty mentor who will serve as a teaching and research advisor through the program.
