NVSU, UPB sign MOA on academic, research partnership
The Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) entered into a memorandum of agreement with the University of the Philippines-Baguio (UPB) for stronger academic and research collaborations in the fields of mathematics and statistics.
Through the initiative and effort of the College of Arts and Sciences' Department of Mathematics and Statistics, the MOA was formalized with UP Baguio, represented by Chancellor Dr. Joel M. Addawe, and NVSU, by University President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr.
The agreement aims to establish a comprehensive support structure for research by connecting with other leading research universities and government agencies.
The partnership also seeks to foster collaboration among the academic community and the government by providing a pool of experts who will engage in joint research activities. These experts will contribute technical and scientific knowledge in areas such as mathematics and statistics, as well as in modeling and simulation applied across various disciplines.
Furthermore, research programs under this agreement are set to include epidemiological and health-related studies such as disease modeling and pure mathematics research, among other areas of focus.
The faculty members who arranged a meeting with the UPB faculty at the latter school were Mr. Richard Taclay, current Math&Stats department chair, Dr. Lany Dullas, graduate school department chair, Ms. Eden Salaguste, former Math&Stas department chair, Ms. Karen Taclay, a department faculty member.
