Orientation for Freshmen and Transfer Students for the Academic Year 2023-2024

Another year, another set of learning!

The Nueva Vizcaya State University, Bayombong Campus commenced its Campus Orientation Program for Freshmen and Transfer Students for the Academic Year 2023-2024 yesterday, August 17, 2023, at the University Gymnasium.

The program started with the Welcome Remarks of Dr. Elma P. Apostol, Vice President for Academic Affairs. “When you decided to take your NCAT here at the University, nagpapasalamat na po kami. Ibig sabihin po, isa ang NVSU sa pinili niyo para sa inyong Edukasyon. Noong nag exam kayo at nakapasa, and you stay decided to enroll here in the University, the more we became happy, simply because you really trust NVSU for your tertiary education. Hindi po kayo nagkamali ng pagpili sa Nueva Vizcaya State University,” Dr. Apostol stated with her sweet smiles.

Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr., The University President, gave his inspirational message. “He emphasized the word ASK, stands for Attitude (Mabuting Ugali), Skills (Kahusayan), and Knowledge (Karunungan). These are the three things that you must aspire when you are here at the Nueva Vizcaya State University," President Dumale remarked.

The orientation included discussions on essential topics such as Student Affairs and Services, University Mission, Vision and Core values, Conduct and Discipline, NVSU Netiquette, Civilian Dress Code, Guidelines on filling Grievances, Guidance and Counselling, Student Insurance and Mutual Aid, Student Organization and Activities, Supreme Student Council, Student Publication, Student Activities Fund Guidelines, Admission, Retention and Graduation, Student Information and Accounting System, Uconnect Account, Scholarship and Financial Assistance, Health Services, Library Services, Security and Safety services, Student housing and residential services, ID cards issuance and replacement , Faculty performance evaluation System, Sports development, and Culture and the Arts program. The directors and Unit Heads of its section and program took charge of sharing the features and services of the topic mentioned above.

As the event progressed, freshmen and transfer students were encouraged to ask questions, voice their concerns, and express their ideas to learn more about the University. The event concluded with a closing remark from Dr. Arvin P. Vallesteros, Bayombong Campus Administrator.
