NVSU Students Win Big in Prestigious Events

Three student-achievers from the Nueva Vizcaya State University brought home prestigious awards from events held in separate events throughout the month of December last year. Recognized during the flag raising ceremony held last January 3, the three were applauded for their exemplary performances in the regional, national, and international stage. 

Shanly Mae F. Antonio, the Creative Director of The Varsity Courrier and a student from the College of Teacher Education, was chosen as one of the 36 semi-finalists from the 314 nationwide entries during the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority?s 1st National Art Competition held last December 27, 2022 at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City .

Antonio?s painting entitled, "Ignited Future? is currently in Pasig City along with other pieces from Metro Manila, Cebu, Bulacan, North Cotabato, Pampanga, Rizal and Baguio.

Keneith M. Natura, the Student Regent and a student from the College of Agriculture, was an Exemplary Motivator and Mover of the Youth Awardee during the 1st Exemplary Motivators and Movers of the Youth (EMMY) Awards last December 27, 2022 at the Ammungan Hall, Capitol Compound, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

EMMY aims to honor Non-SK Young Novo Vizcayanos between the ages of 15 and 30 who have excelled in their field of work and/or advocacy and made a substantial impact to the community's welfare.

Jeferson M. Calingayan, a student from the College of Engineering, won as a Bronze Medalist in the Freestyle Wrestling Category at the Southeast Asian Wrestling Championship 2022 held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia last December 14-18, 2022.

Calingayan and his teammates await the Philippines' official roster to find out if their lineup will participate in the forthcoming 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in Cambodia, May 2023.

?Pinapatunayan nila na maraming nakatagong galing ang mga tiga-nvsu, at dahil dyan kailangan nating paramihin at payabungin ang kultura ng training sa ating mga estudyante", the President said as he applauded the three achievers.
