120 NVSU faculty, students learn AI
The Nueva Vizcaya State University, in collaboration with the Office of International Affairs and the College of Arts and Sciences – Information Technology Department, conducted a seminar on Ethics and Artificial Intelligence for 120 faculty members and students of the University's Information Technology department on March 06, 2024.
Dr. Ariana French, a Fulbright Specialist and Director for Digital Technology at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, USA, served as the lecturer for the training.
The seminar aimed to explore ethical considerations in AI and demonstrate a commitment to responsible innovation and societal progress.
Dr. French emphasized the importance of using AI as a “surgical tool, not a hammer,” highlighting the need for careful and precise AI utilization to avoid unintended consequences and promote ethical practices in their development and deployment."
