BSHM and BSINTE Department Conduct Orientation and Seminar for Student Internship Program

On February 23, the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSINTE) departments conducted an orientation and seminar for the student internship program at the NVSU Cafeteria, Bambang Campus.

The event aimed to provide the participating students with a clear understanding of what they can expect during the internship and how they can make the most out of the experience.

The orientation and seminar started with an opening message from the Dean of the College of Industrial Technology, Dr. Vilma Santos, who welcomed the students and emphasized the importance of internships in their academic and professional development. This was followed by an inspirational message from Campus Administrator, Dr. Fitz Gerald Fabelico, where he highlighted the organization's commitment to providing the students with a meaningful and valuable internship experience.

Afterward, the students were given an overview of the internship program's objectives, requirements, and guidelines. They were also briefed on the specific roles and responsibilities of the interns, and the expectations of the organization/school from them.

The orientation and seminar also included a series of talks and workshops from guest speakers and industry experts. These sessions covered various topics related to the students' chosen field of study, such as ?Personality and Leadership? by Ms. Mary Anne Lorenzo, ?Resume and Application Writing? by Ms. Linette Wakit, ?Job Interview 101? by Mr. Cesar Manaois Jr, ?Values in the Workplace? by Dr. Jesusa L. Naui, ?Industry Collaborations from Different Field of Specialization? by Ms. Jerelyn Maejan, Mr. Rowel Macandog and Ms. Joan Nebrida. The students were encouraged to ask questions and clarify points during the Q&A portions of the sessions.

In addition, it provided the students with the opportunity to connect and interact with their fellow interns, as well as the supervisors and staff of the organization/school. They were encouraged to build relationships and seek mentorship from their colleagues, as these connections can be valuable in their future careers.

Overall, the orientation and seminar was a success, as it provided the participating students with a comprehensive introduction to their internship program.

The students left the event feeling more confident and prepared to take on their roles as interns, armed with the knowledge and skills they need to make the most out of their internship experience.
