CFERM Produces New Foresters
The College of Forestry, Environment & Resources Management (CFERM) has produced 59 new Registered Professional Foresters as the result of the Forester Licensure Examination (FLE) 2022 was released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on November 2, 2022.
CFERM posted a 63% (59 passers out of 93 examinees) institutional passing rate compared to the national passing rate of 55%. This year's FLE marks the first time that Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry (BSAF) graduates were qualified to take the said board examination given by the Board for Foresters on October 26-27, 2022, in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.
In the previous years, only the graduates of Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BSF) were eligible to take the FLE that covers four (4) areas: Forest Ecosystem, Forest Governance and Social Forestry, Forest Utilization and Engineering, and Forest Production Management.
CFERM, recognized as a CHED Center of Excellence in Forestry, continues to perform well in the FLE producing to date three national Top 1 Placers in 1998, 2008, and 2014, as well as 14 other Top 10 Placers, the latest of which was in 2019.
