From Campus Queen to Int’l Icon: Queen Pacalso reigns as Miss Independent Int’l 2025
Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) continues to prove that it is home to intelligent beauties as Wesmin A. Pacalso, a mechanical engineering student from NVSU Bambang Campus, brought pride and honor to the institution by being crowned the inaugural Miss Independent International 2025.
Pacalso, a proud Kalanguya from Salinas, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya, visited University President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr. following her remarkable victory in the international pageant, where she bested candidates from various countries.
In addition to the prestigious title, she also earned multiple accolades, including Best in National Costume, Miss Independent Ambassador, Best Catwalk, Best Body, and Best in Evening Gown.
During the courtesy visit, President Dumale expressed his admiration and support for the 23-year-old beauty queen’s achievements.
“Proud kami sa’yo. You represent the name of the university and the province and the country. Wishing you more success,” Dr. Dumale said.
Pacalso’s journey in the pageant world flourished during her university years. She was crowned Miss NVSU PASUC 2019, proving that her grace, intelligence, and advocacy-driven heart have long been recognized within the academic community. Now, with an international crown to her name, she continues to shine on a global stage.
Pacalso also shared her plans after winning the crown, highlighting upcoming charity works in Malaysia and Japan in partnership with the pageant organization.
Beyond the glitz and glamour of the pageant world, Pacalso is dedicated to making a difference.
Three years ago, she was First Runner-Up in the Queen of the World pageant and started her advocacy project, “Beauty Redefined,” which focuses on helping the homeless and promoting love for animals. She also plans to collaborate with animal shelters in the province.
“Joining a pageant is not just about winning but for opportunities to open and of course, para sa advocacy,” she emphasized.
The Miss Independent International pageant, based in Nigeria, is known for its mission of empowering women and promoting inclusivity, welcoming contestants from all over the world.
With her remarkable achievements, Pacalso exemplifies the brilliance, determination, and compassion of an NVSU student, further solidifying the university’s reputation as a breeding ground for intelligent and purpose-driven beauty queens.
