NVSU Joins Bambang Town Fiesta Opening Program, Highlights Commitment to Community

The Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) faculty and staff marched in unison wearing similar shirts along with the townspeople of Bambang during the opening program of the town?s fiesta on April 28, 2023.

The Bambang Town Fiesta has long been a local tradition, and this year's spectacle was nothing short of magnificent. The festivity kicked off in style with a grand parade that celebrated the community's rich culture and customs. This year's parade was no exception, with lots of people gathered along the parade route to see the colorful and lively procession.

The floats in the procession were a sight to behold, each representing various organizations in the community. They were decorated with local products and flowers to highlight the community's abundant resources and traditions. Beauty pageant contestants rode on the floats, smiling and waving to the crowd, while street dancers in bright and colorful costumes entertained the onlookers.

The march ended at the municipal gymnasium, where the opening ceremony was held, with Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr., NVSU University President, as the guest speaker. The president, however, was represented by Dr. Elma P. Apostol, Vice President for Academic Affairs who delivered a motivating address on the importance of collaboration and the significance of each individual member in a team?s success. She emphasized in her address that "the strength of a team is on the individual, and the strength of the individual member is the team." Her message resonated with the community, as Bambang town has a rich tradition of teamwork and cooperation, which has helped overcome many problems in the past.

The Bambang Town Fiesta may only take place once a year, but its impact on the community is long-lasting. It serves as a reminder that unity and solidarity can overcome any challenge and that by working together, we can create a better and brighter future for every Bambangueños.
