NVSU Recognizes Student Organizations at the SO Awards Ceremony
In a celebration of camaraderie and achievement, student leaders from the 61 registered student organizations at Nueva Vizcaya State University Bayombong Campus gathered at this year's Student Organizations' (SO) Awards Ceremony held on June 9 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the University Gymnasium.
The student organizations underwent rigorous evaluation by a panel of evaluators from the Students Affairs and Services (SAS) Office and University Supreme Student Council (USSC)-Bayombong in various key areas, including academic activities, cultural awareness and promotion, environmental concerns, projects, extension activities, financial reports, bid books, and overall achievement as an organization.
The highly anticipated event was participated by officers of the mother-based, college-based, non-college-based, fraternity/sorority, and religious organizations. The Students Affairs and Services staff, led by Director Angel L. Genato IV, and the members of the Varsity Courier were also present at the said ceremony. In addition, several university officials attended the event to show their support for the student body.
During the ceremony, University President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr. emphasized the significance of leadership during his address at the event. Drawing an analogy to a pencil, he highlighted that what is found inside a leader is what truly makes them important. Dr. Dumale stressed the value of character and values in student leaders and encouraged them to be partners of change within the university. He also reassured the students that the administration prioritizes programs and projects that are beneficial to the student community.
Further, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Elma P. Apostol, encouraged the young leaders with three statements. She congratulated them by saying, "Congratulations!" for being part of the prestigious awards night. She expressed her gratitude by saying ?Thank you!? to the young leaders for their services. Her final statement, "Keep on!", also challenged the student leaders to persist in being a force for good within the university.
The SO Awards Ceremony, organized by the Student Organizations Unit in collaboration with the University Supreme Student Council - Bayombong Campus, is one of the major initiatives of the Students Affairs and Services. This annual event provides a platform for recognizing the outstanding achievements of all officially registered student groups within the institution.
