NVSU scribes champ SPAM ‘24
With over 50 contenders from higher educational institutions (HEIs) nationwide, representatives from Nueva Vizcaya State University brought home various awards in the 15th National Campus Media Conference and 2nd International Research Conference: Media and Community Development held at Angels’ Hills Tagaytay Retreat and Formation Center last September 18-20, 2024.
In the battle of journalism prowess and acumen among 52 big universities, three students from NVSU-Bambang Campus emerged as champions in the Journalism Quiz bee dubbed as “Pambansang Pautakang Pampahayagan” held on the second day of the national media conference.
Francis S. Lacquias (BSED 4), Princess Sheninah Cassandra B. Lictawa (BSED 2), and Elize Marie G. Buya (BSED 1) outwit fellow contenders after securing 220 points, earning them the highest spot in the competition.
For individual categories, Alfredo D. Balicat (BSIT 3) garnered silver medal for Editorial Cartooning - Filipino, while Lictawa clinched the 6th spot in News Story Writing - English, both tertiary levels.
In Tertiary Advisers Category, Mary Jean L. Bongcato also champed the contest for Copyreading and Headline Writing - Filipino, while Jenifer Raymond R. Tallungan placed 4th in Copyreading and Headline Writing - English.
The University Gazette representatives who performed in other areas include the following: Jaylord James B. Orden (BSCS 3), Princess B. Lictawa, Francis S. Lacquias, and Alfredo D. Balicat for i-Dokumento, and Lacquias for New Story Writing Filipino
