NVSU Shines Bright: The Home of Beauty, Talent, and Innovation
Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU), known for being the home of scientists, inventors, and now innovators ? as NVSU recently secured a spot in rank 101-200 in the prestigious World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) has added another feather to its cap. NVSU is known for its academic and innovative excellence and is also the proud home of the province's most beautiful and brilliant young ladies.
With NVSU?s prestige, it?s no surprise that the university's students continue to shine in various domains, including the realm of beauty pageants. The Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya beauty pageant takes center stage at the Ammungan Festival, Nueva Vizcaya's annual magnificent celebration of its vibrant and unique culture and heritage. This year, five of the fifteen young women are NVSU students representing their town, contending for the coveted crown while showcasing their beauty, poise, talent, and wit. One is an alumna of the university. These exceptional young women from different colleges within NVSU exemplified grace and beauty and the intelligence and talent that the university fosters throughout the pageant.
Ms. Lea Lyn L. Santos, a 4th-year Bachelor of Secondary Education in English student in the College of Teacher Education (CTE) at NVSU Bayombong, representing the municipality of Solano, was crowned Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya 2023. She captivated the hearts of the crowd and the judges, securing the coveted title. She was also awarded the Gandang Novo Vizcayano, Best in Talent, and Miss Personality awards. Ms. Solano's triumph in the Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya 2023 pageant went beyond her remarkable performance on stage. Her brilliance shone brightly during the question-and-answer portion when she delivered a thought-provoking and insightful response, a trademark of an NVSUan.
Ms. Melanie F. Magday, representing Bambang, was ranked Third Runner-Up. Ms. Magday, a 4th-year Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering student from the College of Engineering at NVSU Bambang Campus, exemplified elegance and engineering prowess. Her notable coronation successes included Best in Swimsuit and Best in Evening Gown, demonstrating her confidence, style, and academic excellence.
Ms. Angelique M. Cutib, Miss Kayapa, a 4th-year Bachelor of Science in Biology major in Microbiology student at NVSU Bayombong?s College of Arts and Sciences, has emerged as a visionary championing tourism. Her recognition as the Best Tourism Video Award winner highlighted her creative abilities and passion for promoting the captivating beauty of Nueva Vizcaya, particularly the municipality of Kayapa.
Ms. Chelsea Kate C. Ochona is Miss Dupax del Norte, a 2nd-year Bachelor in Secondary Education major in Science student at the College of Teacher Education at NVSU Bambang. Ms. Gretchen O. Alis is Miss Ambaguio, a 3rd-year Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering student at the College of Engineering at NVSU Bayombong.
Ms. Ephraim Joy B. Sta. Ana, Miss Quezon, is a Bachelor of Secondary Education in Social Studies, and an alumna of the College of Teacher Education at NVSU Bayombong.
By simply representing their municipalities, these young ladies have already won and have left an indelible mark in the competition, exhibiting their exceptional talents and charisma. Their victory also stands as a testament to the multifaceted nature of NVSU students, who thrive academically while still possessing the composure and grace required to conquer the world of beauty pageants.
