NVSU talks AI educ'n to international students
Nueva Vizcaya State University, represented by Dr. William D. Magday, Jr., Dean of the College of Teacher Education (CTE), spoke at the 2nd International Hybrid Workshop Series on Progressive Perspectives in English Language Education held from Oct. 28-29, 2024.
Dr. Magday, one of three speakers, presented on “AI-powered Assistants: Tools for Academic Writing” to students and faculty from NVSU, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), and other participants from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and DepEd schools.
The event, co-hosted by NVSU and TDTU, took place onsite at Hall 10F, TDTU in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and online via Google Meet and the NVSU Facebook page.
Focused on the role of AI in English language education and research, the workshop aimed to provide valuable insights for academic growth.
During the opening program, NVSU President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr. congratulated both universities for launching the workshop series, highlighting AI’s significance in education and extending an invitation for TDTU to visit NVSU.
Further, Dr. Magday visited TDTU’s Faculty of Sports Science to discuss potential collaborations to expand NVSU’s networks.
An online meeting with the Offices of International Affairs and the NVSU President is set to discuss and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
