NVSU-CAS initiates seminar on students’ mental health

To help NVSU students develop mental fortitude as they push through with their academic and personal lives, the College of Arts and Sciences through the initiative of the CASSC organized a Mental Health Seminar entitled “Mind Matters: Navigating Mental Health in the NVSU Community” on April 24, 2024.

The event highlights the importance of maintaining a healthy mind and body for each member of councils and sub-organizations.

The seminar commenced with discussions featuring relevant topics on well-being. Ms. Catherine Dela Cruz, CAS Guidance Counselor, delved into the theme of Understanding Mental Health. Following the discourse on mental well-being, Mr. Xaviery Joseph F. Guzman, Faculty Member of the Callege of Agriculture, shared insights on Stress Management.

Furthermore, Ms. Adeline M. De Guzman facilitated a session on Basic Counseling Skills and Introduction to Peer-Counseling with the aim of supporting the establishment of a peer-counseling organization within the NVSU campus.
