NVSU-CVM holds free ARV, Spay/Neuter Activity
In celebration of World Rabies Day 2024, the Nueva Vizcaya State University Animal Health and Diagnostic Center (NAHDC) – College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) conducted a free anti-rabies vaccination and spay/neuter activity last September 27, 2024, at NAHDC, NVSU, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Provincial Veterinary Office to help combat rabies and promote responsible pet ownership in the community.
During the activity, 35 pets were vaccinated against rabies and 34 dogs and cats were spayed and neutered. The event aimed to reduce the spread of rabies and control the stray animal population by offering vital services to local pet owners. By providing these free vaccinations and sterilization procedures, the program directly contributed to protecting both pets and people from the deadly rabies virus.
This collaborative effort reflects the university’s commitment to public health and animal welfare, aligning with global efforts to eliminate rabies. The NVSU-CVM, through events like this, continues to support veterinary education while making a positive impact in the community.
