NVSU-CVM student joins 1st PhilOHUN One Health Young Leaders Bootcamp

A student of Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU)-College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is among the selected participants of the 1st Philippine One Health University Network (PhilOHUN) One Health Young Leaders Bootcamp themed “Catalyzing the Next Generation of One Health Champions.” The event is being held at SEARCA Hotel, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) from July 9 – July 12, 2024.

Mr. Mark Klein Inocencio, incoming 5th year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) student, is one of the 26 qualified participants of the said Bootcamp that includes students and young professionals from various fields and universities in the Philippines such as Ateneo De Manila University, Benguet State University, Bulacan Agriculture State College, Cavity State University, Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, Central Luzon State University, Nueva Vizcaya State University, Pampanga State Agricultural University, Partido State University, University of the Philippines Los Baños, University of the Philippines Manila, Capiz State University, University of Eastern Philippines, Visayas State University, West Visayas State University, and Central Mindanao University.

In partnership with UPLB Program for Zoonotic Diseases (UPLB-PZD) and with the support from the United States Agency for Internal Development (USAID) and the Southeast Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN), the program aims to nurture young professionals in the dynamic field of One Health.

The program highlights include the exploration of zoonotic diseases, environmental health, food security, emerging infectious diseases, and sustainable development; interactive sessions led by esteemed experts, fostering interdisciplinary problem-solving approaches and real-work application of One Health principles; emphasis on experiential learning through collaborative projects addressing pressing One Health issues; and mentorship opportunities for personalized guidance and support in navigating One Health initiatives.
