Journey Beyond Borders Continues: CTE Students Attend International Virtual Workshop
The College of Teacher Education (CTE) continues to provide its students with unique opportunities to learn and grow beyond borders. Recently, 3rd year BSEd English students actively participated in the Virtual Workshop on Variables and Hypotheses organized by the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Ton Duc Thang (TDT) University in Vietnam. The event took place at the NVSU Mini-Theater on April 28, 2023, and was attended by the College Dean, Department Chairs, and faculty members of the College of Teacher Education. Participants were from Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines, giving students the opportunity for cross-cultural exchange and learning.
The activity was made possible through the linkages initiated by CTE Dean William D. Magday, Jr. during his doctoral studies at Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) in Thailand. Ms. Vo Thi Khanh Chi, the Representative of the Faculty of International Affairs at TDT, and one of the workshop's organizers.
"We look forward to having more activities catering to other programs and specializations in the College of Teacher Education", Dean Magday stated in his opening speech. He further emphasized that this activity is a stepping stone to more collaborations between CTE and TDT and that a Memorandum of Agreement or Understanding is being conceptualized to formalize the partnership between CTE and TDT.
The attendance of the CTE students is a testament to the college's commitment to producing globally competitive future teachers who are ready to take on challenges in the global community. It also shows the dedication of CTE in supporting NVSU's commitment to go beyond borders.
