NVSU CFERM launches "PANTAS ng CFERM" mentorship lecture series
Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) - College of Forestry, Environment & Resources Management (CFERM) inagurated the "PANTAS ng CFERM" Mentorship Lecture Series on August 8-9, 2024.
The event, titled "Writing Publishable Scientific Articles," focused on equipping researchers with the skills needed to produce high-quality, journal-ready scientific papers.
The program opened with an invocation and Pambansang Awit, led and conducted by Ms. Arlene R. Manlapaz, followed by the welcome remarks from Dr. Jayson Q. Caranza, Dean of CFERM.
Meanwhile, Dr. Elma P. Apostol, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered an inspiring message, underscoring the crucial role of rigorous research in advancing academic excellence.
The first day featured a series of insightful lectures: Dr. Yolina T. Castaneto discussed "Strategies to Maximize QBE Instruction for Research," offering guidance on leveraging Quality-Based Education for research endeavors.
Morover, Dr. Caranza then presented "The Anatomy of a Journal-Ready Article," breaking down the essential components of a publishable scientific paper, Dr. Ryan P. Manuel covered "Writing Articles the SMART Way" and "Polishing Writeups Using Related Studies and Literature," while Dr. Ramil S. Rodriguez focused on "Inspecting Statistical Integrity of Results."
On the second day, a Student Research Colloquium evaluated the top theses of 2024 bachelor’s degree graduates, with awards for best thesis in forestry, agroforestry, and environmental science to be announced during CFERM’s 50th Founding Anniversary in September 2024.
Dr. Arvin P. Vallesteros, Bayombong Campus Administrator, participated as an evaluator.
The "PANTAS ng CFERM" Lecture Series underscores CFERM's commitment to fostering academic excellence and research integrity, marking a significant step in enhancing the research capabilities of NVSU’s academic community.
