
NVSU faculty among 7 Filipinos selected for APO Training on Big Data Analytics
Mr. Michael Lacar, Assistant Professor of Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU), has been accepted as a participant in the Training Course on Big Data Analytics in the Agrifood Sector, a project organized by the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) in coordination with the Thailand Productivity Institute.
The virtual program, set to run from February 17 to 20, 2025, will bring together 49 experts and professionals, including seven representatives from the Philippines, to explore the applications of big data analytics in agriculture and food systems.
The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), the country’s national productivity organization, extended the invitation to NVSU, recognizing the university’s commitment to advancing research and innovation in the agrifood sector.
As a selected participant, Mr. Lacar will engage in daily three-hour sessions, featuring discussions with resource speakers and fellow attendees. The APO Secretariat will provide program details and access to the virtual sessions, ensuring an interactive and insightful experience.
The APO, a prestigious intergovernmental organization, aims to promote productivity growth and knowledge-sharing across the Asia-Pacific region. Mr. Lacar’s participation in this initiative highlights his dedication to professional development and his university’s growing role in leveraging technology for agricultural advancement.
