NVSU, Howest ink MOU to address education, sustainability challenges
To broaden educational horizons and address global challenges through joint programs in student and faculty exchanges, research, and international support, Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) formalized a partnership with Belgium’s Howest University of Applied Sciences, through the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) held at NVSU Bayombong campus.
During the ceremony, Howest University’s Vice President of Education, Student Affairs, and Internationalization, Mieke Demeyere, highlighted the mutual benefits of the partnership.
“Today, as we explore current and future collaborations, we look forward to exchanging not only knowledge but also perspectives, cultural insights, and methodologies,” Demeyere said.
Demeyere emphasized that partnership goes beyond academic exchange, uniting both institutions’ unique strengths to create a brighter future for students, researchers, and communities alike.
She also outlined joint programs, including student and staff exchanges, research opportunities, and cross-institutional support, to address shared challenges in higher education and foster global perspectives among students.
Meanwhile, NVSU President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr. expressed his excitement for the collaboration.
“As we sign this agreement, we look forward to exploring the many opportunities it will bring, including specific collaborations on climate change, sustainable agriculture, and entrepreneurship,” Dr. Dumale stated.
