DA-ATI RTC 02, NVSU team up to promote e-Extension Program in Agriculture, Fisheries

The Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Training Institute Regional Training Center 02 (DA-ATI RTC 02) partnered with Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) to introduce its e-Extension Program for Agriculture and Fisheries to students and faculty of the College of Agriculture (CAg) held at the 3rd floor of the NVSU Crop Protection Building, February 18.

Mr. Vladimir Caliguiran, Chief of the Information Services Section at ATI-RTC 02, led discussions on e-learning and ICT applications in agriculture.

He emphasized that these technologies are not only valuable to farmers but also to students pursuing agriculture-related courses, equipping them with essential digital skills.

Dr. Aldwin Pablo, CAg Dean, expressed his appreciation for the initiative, highlighting its relevance to recent curriculum enhancements.

“This is very timely. During our curriculum enhancement last week, we explored ways to integrate more skills into our program, particularly micro credentials that other universities are already offering or embedding in their curricula. Hopefully, we can offer them next school year. Ito ay malaking tulong, nagpapasalamat kami sa DA-ATI for including us in your schedule,” Dr. Pablo said.

The event concluded with an open forum, allowing participants to engage in discussions and seek clarifications on the topics presented.

This initiative stems from the initial discussions during the inception meeting between representatives of NVSU’s Information Unit, College of Agriculture, and Extension Office with DA-ATI RTC 02 last January 2025.
