The College of Engineering started as Department under the College of Agriculture in 1974. It evolved into a separate College in 1975 with a handful of faculty members and 47 students in the degree program, Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering (BSAE). It gained its college status through Board Resolution No. 35, s.1980 recommending approval of the 1980 Organizational Chart of the Institute. Under the BSAE Curriculum, students have the option to specialize in Soil and Water Management, Crop Processing, and Farm Mechanization.
The revision of the VMGO of the Nueva Vizcaya State Institute of Technology paved the way to the offering of other allied courses. As a result, the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) was opened in 2000 under Board Resolution No. 29 series of 2000. Then the offering of MS in Agricultural Engineering (MSAE) followed through Board Resolution 104, s, 2001. In 2007, through Board Resolution No. 22, s. 2007, the Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering (BSGE) was offered.
The program were recently evaluated by AACUP in the following accreditation levels, Level IV Phase I, Level III Phase I, and level II for BSAE, BSCE, and BSGE, respectively.
